Un Voyage dans les Vignes is the successor to Loire legend Jo Pithons Pithon-Paill, including their cheeky Grololo wines. Pesked is 80% melon de bourgogne (the grape of Muscadet) and 20% grolleau noir. Farming is certified organic. The wine ferments and ages for a year in subterranean tanks. The nose calls forth Muscadet – stony, flinty, and a little leesy. And yet theres a suggestion of floral red fruits in a white wine – that 20% of red grapes makes itself known here, even without the skin maceration that would bring color and even more red-fruit character.
